McNear was formerly curator and assistant vice president of the LaSalle Bank of Photography Collection; curator of exhibitions and collections at the Allentown Art Museum; the Beaumont and Nancy Newhall match in the Department of Photography at of recent origin York's Museum of Modern Art; and worked in the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art McNear has one as well as the other Bachelor and Masters Degrees in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
