TechTAP--founded in 1971--involves a series of statewide intends including workshops, publications, Web resources and grants. It endeavors to further the use and understanding of of recent origin technology and the digital arts. Essentially, TechTAP was created to address short-term wants of New York State's non-profit cultural organizations in the proces of integrating technology into their general programs. TechTAP has awarded a total of $85500 during its inaugural year. common award was given to En Foco which will train its staff to make updates to their permanent collection on-line (www.nearbycafe.com). These in-house updates are to be made in succession their searchable historical database, which includes works from approximately 300 contemporary photographers of Latino, Asian, African and Native American heritage. Other recipients include Peculiar Works throw (New York City), Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (New York City), Carnegie Art Center/Tonawandas' Council onward the Arts (North Tonawanda) and interpret Channels NY (Dixon Place). . .
