En Foco has announced the winners of its of the present day Works Photography Awards. The winners receive an honorarium, photographic supplies and/or a clump exhibition in New York or publication in En Foco's bilingual journal Neuva Luz The winners are Jaishri Abichandani (New York City), who explores ideas of cultural politics, identity, sexuality and spirituality; Edwine Seymour (New York City), who attempts to break stereotype associated with Voodoo from a Haitian perspective; Andrew Ortiz (Arlington, TX) who expresse his Mexican heritage by the agency of digital collages; and Trina Kyounghui Yi (Chicago, IL). who examines and reclaims her past history, memory and identity by the agency of digital dream-like images and subject . . .
